In a few small rooms, you encounter extensive information about Arctic exploration. You observe genuine artifacts, read authentic publications, and ponder the difficulties of the process. The staff are helpful and courteous. The campus is scenic.

This museum has special exhibits plus a permanent collection of artifacts from the travels of Admiral Peary and Donald McMillan. There a GREAT stuffed full-size polar bear. This is right on the Bowdoin College quad. Admission is free.

I wouldn't really call it a museum, more like a couple of small rooms with some artifacts, photos and a lot of explanation. Very interesting, though, especially if you like explorers!

This is a very worthwhile visit and the displays are excellent. There is a small shop as well. If you are interested in the Arctic and polar exploration this is a must.

Interesting museum layout and lack of hands on exhibits mean that it is mainly for adults. Gives good picture of the various early explorers and life in the Arctic at the time. Worth a visit.
