Close to town, clean, flowing, river water from Lake Megunticook. A well-marked dam is located just downstream from the beach. Muddy bottom is pleasant and graduated for young ones and swimmers. Launch your kayak and head upstream to Molyneaux Road bridge and return in an...More

If you are walking or riding a bike Shirttail Point is a fun place to take the children swimming. The Megunticook River is clean and a whole lot warmer than Penobscot Bay.

happened across Shirttail Point while trying to find a way out of Camden that didn't involve Rte. 1 during season. Beautiful little spot with a small beach and a nice put-in point for kayakers. I highly recommend it.
