Lots of picnic benches under shade providing trees with great water views made this a positive visit. If one enjoys ocean swimming, Reid has long stretches of sandy beaches. We will return.

Sandy beaches in Maine are sort of rare, so treasure this one. Ask the guys at the gate for a map because you can go left or you can go right. Either way, you can't go wrong. There are restrooms, too, so no worries

We like to meander when traveling and decided to check out Reid State Park which is just a mile or two before Five Islands. We like Five Islands as it is a beautifully scenic coastline and the reward at the end of the journey is...More

Sunny day. Tide at half way point, not in, not out. One Mile beach waves were too strong and there is quite a drop off. Liked Half Mile beach better, more sand, less of a drop off. Ocean was calmer.

This beach was really nice. The water was very cold in August but the sun was shining and the sand was good. There is lots to explore on the sandy beach and the rocky shore. There was also a swimming hole. We didn't go to...More

I would advise to have some kind of repellent because, not only are the green heads bad, so are the salt water mosquitoes. They can be really bad at times, even later in the year. Other than that, it's great! If there is... More

I don't believe that clamming is allowed with or without a license. Also, the shoreline of the park doesn't have any "flats" where clams would live.
