Remembered this from visit to area some 15 years ago and the history behind it. Lovely unusual old dame of a house but sadly needs a lot of money spent to repair and repaint it. See from one of other reviewers they met the owner...More

The Wedding Cake House is called the "most photographed house" in the state of Maine. It is an historic house located at 104 Summer Street. The home was built in 1825 by shipbuilder, George W. Bourne. The history behind the house is very interesting.

Very interesting to see something that is totally different from other houses in the area. Needs a little tlc but am sure in its prime it was beautiful. Worth a look and a photo stop,

Wedding cake architecture, quite a treat. Sometimes the owner will greet passerbyers, but not today. Still an opportunity to stop and gawk.

We could only view from the road but it made us stop to photograph and discuss! The setting beside the highway is not adequate for this grand folly!

We always drive by this house when we are in Kennebunkport. I have never seen anything quite like it and it has an interesting history. It is worth the drive to see it.

The architecture indicates that this house may once have been lovely, but it has fallen into grievous disrepair. You may well pass it just driving around, but I would not recommend a detour to see it.
