Took the family for a Saturday road trip to North Star from Lewiston, Maine. Adorable farmhouse turned gift shop filled with Maine and New England treats and goods. Hot apple cider samples enjoyed by all. Orchard made apple based jellies, jams, syrup taken home to enjoy and share. Will return in the Fall to enjoy apple season! 15 minutes away from Skowhegan and easy to find.

This is a great family owned/operated apple orchard. You can stop in the store and get bags of apples all ready to go or purchase some bags and pick your own. There is a tractor and wagon available during the busy fall season to take you up to the back of the orchard which makes carrying you full bags back down so much easier! There is a variety of unique gifts in the gift shop from puzzles, candles, kitchen supplies to food items. They even send gift boxes for that someone special on your gift list. A definite stop for my family in the fall!

We mark our fall season by a visit to this orchard, where we buy apples and cider (and tempting fudge on occasion). The view from the orchard is outstanding (mountains all around) and the owners are nice as can be. Wide variety of apples, too. This year we also visited in the winter (open on weekends) to get more apples. They are stored for winter sales, and were fresh as can be. There's a lovely retail outlet with fall/apple themed items, from aprons to jellies to apple corers to jigsaw puzzles. Start your own family tradition here. Worth the trip.

Great experience. I go every year with a group of around 10. Ranging from infants to grandparents. Honestly, one of the best highlights od of all year.

We LOVE North Star! We are fortunate to live near this lovely family run orchard. I can guarantee that you will not find a more welcoming place to spend a day. They offer many varieties of apples, a wagon ride with spectacular views of the mountains and surrounding areas. Nestled here and there at the top of the orchard are chairs inviting you to stop and relax a while and take in the view. Everyone you encounter is friendly and more than willing to answer questions as to which apple is best for what purpose. In addition to the orchard itself, they have a wonderful store there as well filled with all sorts of treasures such as homemade jellies, jams, spices, bake ware, pottery, cookie cutters, candies, - you name it! You would be hard pressed to not find something there. If you don't feel like picking your apples, you can purchase some already picked as well as cider and other items.
