Knowledgeable staff for their seal and puffin tours. Boats are stable and crew/captains are very accommodating to photographers carrying large telephoto lenses. Parking is a bit difficult and not included in the price

Absolutely wonderful crew. We headed out to Monhegan for the day on some pretty rough seas. The crew couldn’t have been more kind or attentive. We were given ginger candies and bags in case we got sick. And the crew continuously checked on all of...More

Brought some friends to New Harbor. Took Hardy boat to Monhegan Island. Gorgeous day with little breeze on the way out. A little choppy on the way back. The staff was kind and very understanding with customers who had trouble with the seas. The information...More

The Hardy Boat has several shorter trips for seeing specific things such as lighthouses, seals, or puffins or longer trips to Monhegan Island with about 4 hours to enjoy the island or overnight. They supply narration and customer service (such as refreshments or blankets) as...More

This week my husband and I spent one night on Monhegan Island. Our trip out was uneventful - very foggy, so not very scenic! Our return trip was pre-Hurricane Jose, so we were a bit apprehensive about the weather and potential for not-so-calm seas, with...More

No, probably not. Look on the website and if you don't see boats going out in September, then it means that the babies have fledged and the parents taken off for ... wherever they go.

It's a few minutes walk on the road side. Parking is in a dirt lot and there is no sidewalk. You can, however, drop someone off at the dock (you can literally pull right up to the entrance).
