If you are in the area this is a nice place to spend some time. Not a large garden but very well done and maintained. Donation based entry. Does have a restroom. Easy and flat for older visitors. Easy parking. Very much worth your time.

We were there at the height of the color change. It is amazing. And, you can tell from the grounds that the people responsible for the garden take very good care of it. Also, enjoyed the diversity of the parts of the garden, including the...More

Designed by a local garden enthusiast in the early 20th C, this is a lovely Japanese style garden around a lake near the Asticou Inn. There is a dedicated free parking lot on the north side and recommended entrance fee is $5.

We came upon the beautiful Asticou Azalea Garden by accident while touring near Northeast Harbor. This is easily the most thoughtfully designed Japanese garden we have seen outside of Japan. Everything is meticulously cared for and the garden features unique specimen azaleas and estate rhododendrons....More

Strolling through here such a treat, even visiting outside of Azalea Season! Make sure too to cross the street (carefully!) and climb up to Thuya Gardens! Views from up top magnificent.

We had the opportunity to spend some quiet time enjoying the Asticou Gardens. The plantings are well maintained; the water features are peaceful. We especially enjoyed the Japanese sand garden with the raking patterns visible in the sand. Really liked that you can enter at...More

This garden just keeps getting better. I remember from decades ago when it was modest. Now it is remarkable. Most significant is the peacefulness. Plan to sit and find relaxation surrounding you.

Only a few flowers in bloom this time of year, e.g. Japanese Turtlehead. The Asian-inspired landscaping and plantings are still awesome. Very serene even though a road is nearby. Pictures of this azalea garden in full bloom are spectacular, so I'd say May could be...More

This garden is lovely. We stayed across the street, so going there was very easy and it was a lovely stroll with our coffees. With that said, I wouldn’t go out of my way to go. It is meticulously maintained, and the staff clearly goes...More

Extremely beautiful, manicured gardens in Japanese style. These gardens are lush green, very well laid out and maintained. It may be a little difficult to locate, so look out for parking entry while driving. Not many people visit this place, and thus it offers a...More

I suspect there will be significant bloom at this time but this is such a delightful garden tat a visit would be worthwhile at any time. When I visited there was little in flower but that didn't reduce the experience though... More
