It is very easy to get a Chavignol Chevrerie when in Sancerre but I highly recommend visiting Chevrerie des Gallands to see the goats, understand the process of making cheese, and to buy some really high quality Chevrerie. They offer several types of Chev at really fair prices. The cheese is all super fresh and has some of the best flavors that we tasted our entire visit (if not ever anywhere). I recommend buying one of each of the cheeses she offers as they all are really good and have such different textures, flavors and structure. The aged Chevrerie was truly outstanding. Buy plenty as you will regret it later if you don't!!

We visited here as part of a bigger tour of the Sancerre area. It was very interesting and the chese was very good. It is only a quick visit, as not a lot to see and do. We sampled a few of the cheeses, and had the process explained to us. Quite interesting.

France is very well known for its cheeses--- most of which are made from cow's milk. BUT there are also some amazing goat cheese makers... and one is based near Sancerre!
I was lucky enough to see how they make their cheeses-- and sample some of their incredible aged cheeses. It is definitely both memorable as well as worthy of a visit!

Drove all the way to find the place closed. It was 4pm on a Monday, even the sign across the driveway indicated it should've been open. Such a shame as was looking forward to visiting

Bonjour, désolée pour ce désagrément mais la chèvrerie était pourtant ouverte lundi, peut être n'avez vous pas bien appuyé sur la sonnette pour annoncer votre arrivée ... :-)
