We happened upon the museum during the free hours on Friday evening and had a great time! There's a wide variety of art types, it's laid out nicely and has good interesting placards to describe a lot of the artwork. I definitely recommend stopping in...More

A very wide variety of artists and mediums, including the sculpture area, and loved the 3 huge apples hanging out of the wall. Miro, Degas, Renoir, and many others. Totally fun way to spend a few hours.

Not the biggest museum I've been to by any means. Get a $2 off coupon from the Maine Visitor's Center before going. Walk all of the way through the museum shop or you may miss two other galleries.

We’ve always enjoyed this museum. The shows are interesting and the space, designed by I M Pei, is a delightful place to view art. There’s a children’s museum right next door, so make a day of it with your family!

I am not an art patron. So going free on Friday evenings was an easy decision. Amazing art for such a small city. Not too keen on the attached mansion part of the facility but wide range of mostly paintings from local to international. Good...More
