nice church with two red doors

This church has two red doors as characterizing aspect from the street side. The flag hanging outside of the church is very colorful as well.

Church with long history

The First Parish Portland Unitarian Church has been built in Portland since 1852. It was the oldest church in town and built of granite and survived in Portland's great fire in 1866. Centrally located in town but not open for public except for services.

Very historic and beautiful church

I can't believe there aren't more reviews for this beautiful church pertaining to its architecture and history. It's the oldest church in Portland, built in 1825, with a congregation that began in 1674 when it was just a wooden church. It's made of granite and built in the Federal architectural style. It was the only building in the area to survive Portland's 1866 fire. It's in a very prominent spot on Congress Street facing Temple Street. I never get tired of looking at this simple, aesthetic church. It's not open to the public except during services, unfortunately.
