Ship traffic here runs the gamut from lobster boats to oil tankers and cruise lines; also look for the many photogenic lighthouses.

We walked the streets near Casco Bay, as well as, having dinner at DiMilo's floating restaurant. It has some amazing scenery.

Perhaps not the most scenic waterfront I've ever seen, there is a lot of natural beauty here mixed with gritty fishing industry and oil tankers. The promenade winds along the bay... nice for a stroll. The relative calm and quiet here makes it ideal for...More

Take the ferry (Casco Bay Lines), to any of the islands! There's a good restaurant on Peak's island w/ an outside terrace for eating. Walk, hike or bike ride....a perfect adventure on a nice summer day!

if you're interested in Maritime history, Portland Harbor Museum is a small charming spot to visit. Check out Schooner Fare's Portland Town on youtube for local music.
