We stopped by early Friday morning and enjoyed our walk along the waterfront. We were fortunate to immediately find a parking space. Definitely something for everyone. Be sure to visit Harbor Fish Market for fresh seafood. Staff were friendly and helpful.

This is a fun spot to walk around when you are tired of the beach or need something for a rainy day. Plenty of different shops and restaurants with great food. Worth the drive and plenty of parking.

We spent a bit of time on Commercial Street. Its one of the main arteries that runs along the harbor. Chock full of restaurants and shopping, It only takes an hour to do everything, but its where you catch the cruises and fishing boats.

This is the main shopping and dining area of downtown Portland. Lots of restaurants and stores along the way.

There is so much to see, such a variety of shops and restaurants on one side and a working harbor on the other...current times and trends and businesses and professions of long ago.......the latest foodie fads and fishing fleets and. Fresh fish establishments in business...More

The main road in Portland, Commercial Street has many stores ranging from local produce to souvenirs, a wide-range of restaurants/bars and cafes as well nice views of the ocean. Definitely worth a stroll by the ocean!

Commercial Street is commercialized & touristy but it has a lot of cool shops, restaurants, and gorgeous views of the harbor! Definitely worth taking a stroll down!

Walked around Commercial street and really enjoyed it. The Tourist shops are nice but it's really cool to see the fishermen come in with their lobster traps. A nice captain stopped to chat with us and we learned a lot about lobstering.

We stayed right on Commercial St. at the Courtyard and enjoyed walking up and down it, shopping and seeing the waterfront. Also, great options for tours down here.

I assumed you meant for a dinner out. The fish market on the waterfront has a variety of fresh fish to buy and take home.

Yes, everything will be open. Except for some beaches/resorts, Maine never closes!

I think it was called Blue Lobster. It is on commercial street right across the street from the tour ticket booth. It is on the corner. They had a pretty good selection as well as some $6.00 t-shirts. Good luck.
