Lucky Catch Cruises offers 1 1/2 hour lobstering excursions in Casco Bay, Maine. The tours depart from Long Wharf in Portland and operate from the first weekend of May through the last weekend of October. A typical lobster excursion involves pulling eight traps near scenery such as the Portland Headlight Lighthouse, Civil War Fort Gorges and the Seal Rocks. Lobsters can be purchased after the tour for a discounted price and brought to the restaurant next door for cooking. We limit the number of passengers on each boat, so please call ahead for reservations. All the best from Maine!

This was a great tour of the water, scenes and to learn about lobstering. The crew were friendly, engaging, and education. It was a fabulous addition to our tour of Maine.

We did this trip with our four children (ages 8 - 16) and we all had an absolutely fantastic time. We were given plenty of local information as well as hands on experience of catching lobsters. We bought some lobsters (wholesale price) at the end...More

I happened to see this company as I was wandering down the docks after dinner across the way and it like like fun. I was right. The number of people on the trip is limited, which is great because then it feels more one-on-one. The...More

Took the Luck Catch cruise during our stop in Portland earlier this month. The folks in the office were extremely helpful in choosing the right cruise (my wife has a sensitive stomach, we chose the one that stayed in the harbor). Initially, my wife was...More

I thought this tour was wonderful. It was kind of small which made it even better. I think our group maybe had 12 or 15. We wore our little lobster gloves and rubber aprons. We got to help put the bait in the bags, set...More

We enjoyed the cruise and have no complaints - captain and his assistant were great and we learned a lot about lobstering. Consider the rest of this review a "Public Service Announcement" for anyone considering the trip. The crew will give you orange rubber gloves...More

Our particular boat appeared to be lobster only but I know they had several boats. They are incredibly nice. I would call and inquire.

We were there in September so it was a bit cool, pants and sweatshirt. Summer months, shorts and t-shirt. They give you a lobster apron to wear so your clothes don't get wet.
