Easy 1 mile walk/hike on coastal path. Beautiful views, walk starts by iconic Black Point Inn Pumphouse and weaves around the rocky coast of Prouts Neck in Scarborough, Maine. Only struggle is to find parking anywhere around this hiking path. Black Point Inn has few...More

Just like any exclusive part of the Maine coast, it takes some planning and knowledge of the area to make your visit unforgettable. Public parking on Prouts Neck proper is nonexistent so plan ahead. Cheapest: park at Ferry Beach (Scarborough NOT Ferry Beach State Park)...More

We started at Black Point Inn. The views were gorgeous and the path was not difficult but would be too much for anyone slightly unsteady on their feet. This is a walk that we will keep in our repertoire for future visits!

The views from the cliff walk of the ocean, the rocky coast, and the gorgeous cottages are definitely memorable. Wear sturdy shoes and give yourself a few hours to do the round trip. We parked at Scarborough Beach ($16) and walked about a mile to...More

Just walk and enjoy nature at its finest. A bit difficult for seniors but can be down in a very slow pace. Take lots of pictures. You will remember this place.

Parked at Ferry beach for $10, walked to the Black Point Inn and started the trail from there. There's a little stone path that starts at a gap in a low stone wall. Walked the whole length and came out at the end of Black...More

Ok let me start by saying the walk is gorgeous and totally worth it. I would give it 4 or 5 if it weren't for all the other things that made it suck. Here are some key info points I didn't see listed anywhere: 1....More

Yes, I believe they must be on a leash, but early in the morning you could probably get away with no leash.

That's incorrect. There is not a convenient place to park. Parking is only allowed at the Blackpoint Inn if you are a guest. Otherwise it is a hike to park (and pay) at Ferry Beach and walk about a half mile to the entrance... More
