Tried to go by the shop after seeing signs on the Main Street. However, it is closed due to Covid. In fairness to the shop, and there was a notice on their website that I saw when I got home. I wanted to pick up an order to take on the way home but it closes at 4 on Friday. I had hoped to grab something on Saturday as I left town. So it may be totally nice but I have no idea.

If you haven’t yet been to Bixby & Co in Rockland, you are missing out. Incredibly creamy, homemade (bean to bar) chocolate, creative fillings, wonderful people. A family run taste sensation in the heart of Rockland’s working waterfront.

It’s really neat to see all the products they can make with just a couple ingredients. The chocolate is single source from sustainable sources and are all organic and seriously only contain 2 ingredients but they are also $10.00 a piece. The finished product is really good but you will pay for it. We bought 3 small chocolate puffins to help the puffin project. Come try some and treat yourself.

We enjoyed seeing how the process works and loved the samples. There was no activity in the kitchen but we still received a good explanation. We liked the gelato we got there, too.

I don’t eat a lot of chocolate but when I do I want truly fine chocolate. This place filled the bill. Their business is a bit off the beaten path but certainly easy to find. There are so many great options to enjoy chocolate including an opportunity to compare chocolate from different countries. To sample, there were chocolate baking chips that were all 70% pure cacao but from various countries so it was possible to truly compare flavors. Lots of fun. Th S is a fun place to visit but if you take kids be sure to keep them under control. The other visitors there are interested in the chocolate and not dodging children. I can’t wait to try their drinking chocolate. Yummm
