The Andre the seal statue is a lovely ode to the amazing story of the seal that stole so many local hearts. I did grow up around the area, and I'll admit, when I was a lot younger I did have my own stuffed-animal seal that I named after Andre, so it was great to see the statue. If you... More

Toddlers will enjoy climbing on this granite statue of the real Andre the Seal, while you take in the view if beautiful arockport Harbor. Look for the Fox on the Run food truck in the summer months, learn about the lime kilns in the adjacent hillside, and enjoy a quiet picnic at the little beach behind the Harbor Master's House.... Wonderful tribute to Andre and the man he adopted and came back to for so many years. Very moving experience to see the statute and the little waterfront park where it is located.

We stumbled upon it as we were walking around the marina and park. It was neat to see the history and plaque dedicated to Andre.

My husband and I enjoyed sitting in the harbor where Andre resides. The history of the Lime kilns was very interesting. Nice stop to take a sandwich and enjoy the water and trees.

A little tricky to find, but enjoyed the park by the harbor. Also the exhibit of the lime kilns. A very organized and calm marina.

Visited the Andrew statue late August 2016. Fairly easy to find, plenty of parking as well as public restrooms behind the Harbor Master's House. Plenty to see and do in the area. This made for an exciting trip for my children who had recently watched the Andre movie.

This is in the beautiful Rockport Harbor and Andre was a must see event when he was alive. The kids and adults would enjoy.

Bought the book about Andre at the Farnsworth Museum so wanted to see the statue. Beautiful setting in Rockland harbor, beautiful breeze amidst all the boats. Good sized statue (it was inside a caterer's tent today).

He's actually not so little, but I just love him. This is an annual stop so my children can say "hello." Even if you're an adult, please read "Andre'" (The Famous Harbor Seal) by author Fran Hodgkins- it's a magical story and will make your own stop to see Andre' meaningful.
