We didn't have time to tour the farm but we drove out to see the cows and parked along the side of the road to take pictures. I wish we'd been able to tour the farm and next time we will.

Loved the cows. We stopped in the gift shop and the gentleman told me that these cows have leaner meat, because in the winter they grow a second coat of hair instead of fat. The farm imported the breed from Scotland and has won awards for its breeding. We stopped and bought a steak for dinner. It was excellent

Very family orientated to visit cows and farm. It is historic and open to the public. There is usually a guide to inform you of the farm and souvenirs can be purchased.

We dropped by the farm after seeing a sign for an art sale. On the way into the barn to view the art we stopped out front after being charmed by a Mom and her 5 day old calf. We visited with them for about a half hour while the calf was nursing. During this time we had an informative... More

While I understand there is a tour available, this is a drive by for our family. It's located on the "back road" from Rockport to Camden. The views over the farm and the famous "Oreo" cows are always a treat!

We were here four years ago, but just looked down the hill into the farm yard, at the "Oreo Cookie" cows. But, now we know that every Friday during the summer, at 10:00am, there is a tour. There is a guide who is very knowledgeable about this very old breed of cattle. The "Belties" as they are fondly called, date... More

Stopped in Rockport on one of our stops on cruise line up the coast of Maine and decided to visit the Aldermere farms and the "Oreo Cookie cows". Taxi driver laughed and said he never had a fare that wanted to see cows, and became our local tour guide (thanks Pat from Schooner Bay). I fell in love with these... More

We stopped here on the way back from the botanical gardens. The cows are something to see. I had to google them because I never heard of the belted galloways before!

Like many we first discovered the belted cows for the visual effect of seeing them in the fields. But then we learned what great educational work and volunteer opportunities the Farm and the foundation behind it are providing, especially for kids. If you want your kids to have some sense of connectedness to the American farming tradition, this is a... More

We've been there many times and the staff are all welcoming and friendly. The farm sponsors 4-H kids and helps them with showing the cattle, which are in prime condition, having the utmost care.
