The woods and shore hiking trails are lovely here. It's one of the few preserves in the Deer Isle area that offers a bit longer hiking opportunities, if you complete all the trail loops (roughly 3-4 miles of trails, I believe?). The parking is limited,...More

This small preserve is a gem. An easy walk in the woods, it offers many spots to enjoy the ocean, either by swimming, or resting on rocks to just gaze. Two old foundations with interesting histories are on the property. Quiet; very few people, even...More

This is a coastal trail with spectacular views. It is uneven, however, and crisscrossed with roots. Hiking shoes are recommended. Dogs are to be kept on leashes, which is generally honored. For both short-term visitors and residents, this is a trail worth taking often!

This preserve is absolutely charming. The trails follow the rugged shore and go through the spruce forest as well. It is our first choice. Also it is dog freindly

We walked this slow paced trail to Barred Island and then around the loop back to the parking lot. There were a LOT of roots on this trail. The trail itself was very easy, no steep climbs, soft ground, pretty level. There where, however, a...More
