This old swinging bridge was once used by locals to cross over to work at the textile factory located on the river. It is a real historical piece and is well worth the stop if you are interested in walking bridge designs. I've had friends in the area tell about how they use to stand on the bridge and feel... Stop in for a quick walk out on the bridge if you're ever bored and stuck in traffic, especially during the spring snowmelt, when the standing waves are huge and sport kayakers are going daredevil, but it's beautiful and fun in any season.

We stopped at this bridge to view the river and enjoy some foliage. Parking on the Brunswick side is very limited. Go to the Topsham side if you can.

Very good place for pictures and picnics! Cute. In the fall it's stunning. During low water times in late summer, there's a little sand beach and lots of room to stretch out.

Winter, summer, spring our fall this walking bridge has the best views of all. Built as a toll bridge for workers in the mills in Brunswick and Topsham to get to work it crosses the Androscoggin River above the dam. It has wooden plans and is a suspension bridge that swings as you walk across. The swinging allows it to... More

Bridge was fun to cross, even my 15 year old enjoyed it. Views are beautiful and worth just a 10 minute stop.

This suspension bridge spanning between Brunswick and Topsham is a great place to view the river do wn to the old mill. The bridge was designed by the same engineer as the Brooklyn Bridge. It's a quick pit stop off the highway on Rt. 1 in Brunswick.

This bridge got the “swinging” part of its name from a Girl Scout Troop. There is a small parking lot on Route 1 in Brunswick right near the bridge. It is a pedestrian bridge. One can walk or ride a bicycle across this bridge. I walked. As one crosses this bridge, one can feel some sway. It would be more... More

Parking lot is very small. We parked by the bridge and walked across and then walked on a trail for about 1/2 mile each way on the other side. Wish they had a longer river walk. The bridge and walk are serene

The bridge is very interesting! This bridge was originally built to help people get from the Topsham Heights side to Brunswick side for working at the mills. It has been maintained and is a great place for some fantastic views of the river, photographs, and to go for a walk. In the Topsham side is a waking trail.
