A true gem for Waterville
Jul. 2020 • Couples
Not only is this a great history lesson for Waterville, the park is beautiful and very well kept. The bridge is special for me because my mother used to cross it daily to go to work at the old telephone office back in the late 40’s early 50’s.

Guess how much the toll was??
Oct. 2019 • Couples
Lovely, but made of metal grating so I couldn’t walk on it......this is an historic suspension footbridge, linking the city of Waterville and the town of Winslow across the Kennebec River. It gets its name from the toll that was charged to cross it.... 2 cents! See the locks?? Pretty cool way for couples to proclaim their love, by locking it on a bridge. The bridge actually sways!! Thanks to Husband for the photos actually *on* the bridge. I tried, but those grates..... nope.

Pretty bridge, nice view
Sep. 2019
This is a bridge over the river between Waterville and Winslow. Has an interesting history as a key bridge to connect the two towns. It looks very pretty, and has nice views of the river, and also looks nice if you are at one end and staring down the other. It is pleasant for taking a stroll, though I would not go out of your way to visit it. There doesn't seem like much on the Winslow side.

A nice walk over the river
Sep. 2019
It is a nice walk out over the Kennebec River.
It is a historic pedestrian toll bridge.
Children were playing along the river bank next to the bridge.
It is right next to the very nice new River Walk park.

Nice historically significant stroll
Jul. 2019 • Solo
Pedestrian bridge across the Penobscot. Makes a nice short hike and there are some good river views. Nice new park with informative markers along the path. Bridge originally built to accommodate Waterville workers for access to the paper company over in Winslow, predecessor to Scott paper Co apparently. Worth the visit.

Walking delight!
Apr. 2019 • Friends
If you have the chance to be in Waterville, take a stroll through the park and cross the 2 cent bridge. The view of the mighty Kennebec River is just relaxing. Very enjoyable.

Nice place to walk

Old bridge with nice and green seating and walking places on both sides. A bit run down, but good place to get a view of the river.

My 12 year old grandson with ADHD likes to go there because he says its so calming there. It's a nice to walk across and look at the water, even though I'm not a fan of heights :)
