Very attentive tour guide who knew a great deal about the history of not only the home and family, but also of Wiscasset! Beautiful home and interesting family story. Greatly enjoyed our visit and will continue to tour the other Wiscasset museums!

The Nickels-Sortwell House on Main Street in Wiscasset was about two blocks up from Red’s Eats and the Donald E. Davey Bridge that connects Wiscasset to Edgecomb. Parking anywhere in the downtown area of Wiscasset is a challenge, especially in the vicinity of the shops,...More

Had a guided tour of this house a while back by the lady occupying the house. Interesting décor, large rooms and nicely presented, even telling us about initials a young boy carved in wood on the 3rd floor.

We visited this historic house and heard the fascinating story of its chequered history from Roxane, our charming tour guide, who was a mine of information. The house was built by Nickels, a successful and wealthy ship's captain who owned a dozen ships, to demonstrate...More
