While this is not a huge museum, we found it quite fascinating to visit. It was FREE (but donations were accepted). There was a friendly volunteer who walked us through the entire museum and told us lots of cool information. Very worth our time!

The building(the former courthouse, ca. 1900) is undergoing extensive renovations to return it to it original lustre. In the meantime, there are some very interesting exhibits to view, especially from the Kelly Tire Company.

The folks behind the desk could not have been friendlier or more helpful. Each room has its own theme. Glass, tires, fire department, geological history, etc. It is worth the stop. There is an elevator to take you to the 2nd floor.

From Glassware to Whittling, B&O Railroad to the C&O Canal, Kelly Tires to The National Road it is all here. They have a very nice collection of local brewery and distillery items. I also enjoyed the archeology and wildlife exhibits.
