I stopped by during the week for the first tour. I was able to park on the street. Each room had a tree for the holiday. The theme was the 12 days of Christmas. Most of the ornaments were hand made, present day, to reflect the theme for the tree. Outstanding work. This is worth the stop.

A wonderful house museum, beautiful and with great tours. Exhibits change often, it was World War I when I went. Our guide did a great job explaining everything so we could understand it.

We arrived on a day not designatd for public tours. A very nice member of the Historical Society was there and she allowed us to come in and then gave us a nice tour of the downstairs. A full tour would have allowed us to see more of this grand house but we were happy with what we were offerred.... More

Wonderful venue for afternoon tea and a history lesson. Visited with my professional sorority and we all had a memorable time. The tea was served with yummy food and they are quite willing to provide for specific dietary needs. It wasn't a true meal but it was more than just a snack. The house and garden are full of period... More

If you enjoy touring these types of historical houses, you'll enjoy this one. Beautiful house with interesting history. My tour guide was welcoming and informative. Check the hours before you go.

We arrived into Cumberland 9pm on Friday for the weekend and with the Gordon-Roberts house only open Wednesday through Saturday, we headed to the house mid-Saturday morning as this would have been the only day possible to visit. Imagine our disappointment when we arrived to the front door to find a notice posted that the house would be closed for... More

we had a "high tea" at the mansion, then a tour of two of the floors. They have quite a large amount of period pieces, very few that actually belonged to the Gordons or Roberts. It was all displayed very well.

I was lucky enough to be the only person on the tour at 10 AM. The guide and I had the place to ourselves, and my tour lasted more than an hour because we lost track of time. He knew so much about the house and its families and furnishings. The house has a few architectural mysteries attached to it,... More

Give it under an hour, but if you like historical houses, this has a nice collection of typical period stuff.

The Gordon-Roberts House was open as part of Cumberland's Heritage Weekend which is why I came to visit the city. I arrived on Friday afternoon and was hoping for a tour in a small group since its sign stated that it was open for tours on the hour, but the house appeared to be closed. On Saturday of Heritage Weekend,... More
