What travellers are saying
- Anin A224 contributionsGreat place to relax after dinning at one of the restaurants in the area! Great for families and friends to hangout! You also enjoy some shopping and maybe even go for a walk. Either way this place is great!Written March 5, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Jay A132 contributionsBefore deciding to go here, I'd like you to think about one word: RULES.
This splash park has a LOT of them, and I do mean a LOT. You can't exit, even if you forgot something at your car. You can't bring in water bottles with water in them. No jewelry or even an Apple Watch on the slides. I forgot my phone in the car, and was only allowed to get it when the manager escorted me. The workers were nice enough about enforcement, but it all got a little tiring after awhile. This is a municipal park, not DisneyWorld. Chill.
Perhaps worst of all, while you can't bring water bottles in, on the day we went, the park provided coolers of water didn't have any paper cups out. So yeah...
As for the park itself, it's fine. A big (not particularly deep) pool, surrounded by 3 slides (one for tykes, another for under 7, and the granddaddy of them all, which is towering). There was plenty of space for sitting and umbrellas. I'd imagine this place is super packed on weekends, but we had no issue getting chairs.
The bathrooms are clean, the pool and slides are well maintained and there are lifeguards everywhere. The water is ice cold, and there are vending machines. Outside food is allowed (but not water? Make it make sense!!!) but don't get cute trying to sneak in liquor because they do search your bags thoroughly. I get the sense the city really cares about this facility and treats it accordingly. They don't want riff-raff in here.
But check beforehand. Weekends are for city residents ONLY. Nobody from outside MoCo is allowed in, and they will check your ID to confirm.
For some reason, I was only charged $6 (the city rate) instead of $11 (I live in Silver Spring) so that admittedly influenced my rating. I might have been a but harsher (because rules) had I paid full cost.
My kids (ages 10 and 13) got a bit bored after a while, but for the price, this isn't a bad way to blow an afternoon.Written August 25, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - LolaGo1Washington DC, DC6,452 contributionsWhile looking for the Lake Inspiration located in Gaithersburg, I came across this attraction. The first floor is a Gallery with Artworks on display. The second floor is where the Theater with 99 seats is located.
The friendly Front Desk named, Cindy is very friendly and provided me with lots of information about their 2020 Schedules for the Shows, Classes, and Exhibits.

There was a series of these observatories around the globe that made astronomical observations. It's down a little side street but it's worth a visit.Written December 11, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Daniel WPhiladelphia, PA3 contributionsI celebrated my child's birthday here recently and it was AMAZING. The parents could rest, socialize, eat, drink, AND keep an eye on their kids at the same time. The magic of this place is 1) that the environment spurs imagination in real-world settings like a veterinarian clinic, restaurant, and grocery store (unlike indoor play gyms), 2) that you can always see your little ones from nearly any point in the room (ah... the ease of mind that it brings), 3) that someone else is in charge of providing food and keeping things moving along schedule. Rowena, the owner, personally oversaw everything and managed our party announcements with an elegance that elevated the entire affair into something that felt decidedly posh. The decor at the event was tasteful. I just brought a handful of balloons and Kids Play Gallery provided the rest according to the theme that I'd chosen including a huge tv screen with my kid's name on it and an image related to the theme. All in all, this place was perfect. I actually relaxed during a kids' party that I was throwing (I've never been able to say that before) and the kids had a blast! Our guests were awed by this place. I think they'll be back... :)Written May 29, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

No one was using the slides, swing sets, tennis courts, and basket ball court. Where is everybody?
The weather was nice so I lingered here for about 15 minutes taking pictures, etc. Perhaps , they were all home getting ready for Christmas!Written December 24, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The former Owners of this mansion donated it plus the Barn to the City of Gaithersburg for public use. ( Please see my related reviews).
It can be rented for some Events such as weddings, etc. for a fee. During my visit, there are paintings on display that are for sale. I visited its various rooms and admired its Christmas decorations, chandeliers, fire places, etc.
Neighborhood: The Kentlands Neighborhood houses near it are big and beautiful. They reminded me of Williamsburg, Virginia.

These 2 lakes are the Nirvana Lake and Lake Placid.
The lake areas were represented to have 40 acres, 15 miles of Hiking Trails and 2 Ponds. The trails I saw are paved, areas surrounding them are neat and clean.
Facing the Lakes are the Kentlands Mansion and the Arts Barn that has a gallery with art exhibits and a small theater on the second floor. Highly recommended to visit!
Notes: Please read my related reviews of the above attractions. I tried posting pictures of the Lakes and these other attractions here in Tripadvisor, but was not successful to do so.Written December 23, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
