We stayed in the Cabins. Nice setup with loft, wood stove. Wood is provided. Full Kitchen. All you need is your blanket (sleeping bags) and pillows and food. Nice trails to hike and lake to walk around

This is a small park with a small lake and small campgrounds, set into a forest of tall pine trees, with a short drive to nearby attractions. My son and I used this park as a jumping off point to a weekend of kayaking and...More

Loved our two night stay in cabin 11! Cabin is huge and overlooks the lake. Used the outdoor fire ring close by for fires at night and indoor stove late night or early am. Hiked and fished during the day with our 3 children. Didn't...More

We took our 11 week old here this past weekend on his first adventure. Stayed in Cabin 9. We loved the cabin and it was cozy with the wood stove. The lake was gorgeous, nice hiking trails and so quiet. Great place for an outdoor...More

I stopped by to kill some time waiting for my hotel. I wish I had looked into this park more. There were a lot of covered picnic tables, and bbq areas. There was also a really nice play area for the kids. What surprised me...More

We loved camping here. The park was well maintained and quiet. Beach is small, so it can be crowded during holidays. Hiking trails are not difficult so kids can have fun. Only minor flaw is that some camping sites are closely located and you can't...More

Have enjoyed a spring fishing trip there over the past several years. Savage River area has unique tundra foliage and fairly secluded fishing opportunities for that time of year.

I see there are no water hook-ups, but is there access to water throughout the campground, like taps to fill up a container? Do I need to bring in all my own water for drinking, cooking, washing up, etc?

There is a water hook up close to phone booth (the one that says YELL for emergency!) and you can fill your containers there.
Where are the cross country trials ?

We don't ski but did see the designated trails. The trail heads are near the parking lot across from the lake and at the end of the little road that has several of the cabins along it. There may be others, particularly... More
