Unless you are with more then four adults and understand what danger is. Other then that it would be great for bikers. A lot of folks go. Me? I know the place. There is more then animals in the woods.

We live about 7 miles from a canal access point at Brunswick, MD. Even in the heat of the summer the canal towpath is a great place to bike or hike. We always head west on the towpath where there is great tree cover so...More

I've been going to the canal since I've lived here (before the towpath was fixed). Amazing place to take a bike ride and to fish. Can be entered from multiple places. I like Williamsport for biking and Dam 4 for fishing.

First of all, a visit here (to Great Falls on the Potomac River...) is visually stunning (remember that this perspective is from someone from the prairies of the Midwest...not the peaks of the Rockies:)...and beautiful scenic hiking and/or biking and/or whitewater rafting. Secondly, it's not...More

180 miles of beauty and peace, flora and fauna. I have walked, biked rode horses, fished, floated, and boated this park and river for years. Never disappointed. Spend the day, night ot a quick walk on the towpath. You will enjoy!

We visit this site a few times a year and thoroughly enjoy a day filled with hiking, picture taking and picnicking. The whole family enjoys this location for there is so much to see, even our 16 year loves it!

We had to use google maps too. The signs are ok but it is easier with GPS. Good luck!
