I think soon this park will improve drastically by what they described. We enjoyed being like George Washington by boating down the Potomac River albeit the canal. The history was great and the little boat trip was fun and educational, but short. What can you...More

I bike on the canal whenever possible, usually embark Williamsport. We are so blessed to have this towpath in our backyard. People walk, jog, bike, fish along the way. Always a perfect antidote to daily craziness.

I've done runs on/near the trail and walked pieces of the trail. It's well maintained and offers gorgeous scenery. I usually see some type of wild life while I'm there too--turtles, birds, etc.plenty of markers and historic descriptors to bring the history into perspective.

A walk along any part of this canal is a pleasant walk through history. The tow path is level and well maintained.

We had to use google maps too. The signs are ok but it is easier with GPS. Good luck!
