About a mile walk from the nature center down to the water. There are closer places to park if you drive down the hill. We walked through the marshy beach area down to the water and the bay was breath taking. It was a little...More

We love going here. It's a mixture of pine, dunes, ocean, and history and is truly remarkable! My only disappointment and it happened twice - we checked their website for the hours but were misinformed. Visiting from Dallas so it's not as if we have...More

Great county-run Park that didn’t get very crowded during a warm fall day. Dogs are allowed which is a plus. The beach is close to the parking area and really clean. There are also some short trails in the park. Highly recommend this as a...More

My wife and I took our boys to Flag Ponds. We pretty much just parked and walked straight to the beach. We didn't explore too much, but I will definitely go back and explore the trails and such. The park is well maintained. The beach...More

We've done our fair share of exploring the parks around Maryland's southern coast, but Flag Ponds Nature Park was one we had never heard before friends suggestion going one day. What a wonderful little surprise this place was. A massive coastal playground co pared to...More

This hidden beach is very dog friendly, but keep them on the leash. There was plenty of room to set up umbrella, cooler and chairs. It is along the bay and behind you are the cliffs. The walk from the parking lot to the beach...More

1/2 mile down hill hike to the beach so pack light. I carried a cooler and my beach bag and nearly had 3 heart attacks on the way back up (totally worth it though)! The path is easy to follow and there is handicap parking...More

Pros-- the bay at its best! Beach, herons, crabs, and fossils. Cons (but not really :). -- you need to be prepared. Yes. There's a walk to the beach. Maybe a half mile. You need to bring stuff -- water, snacks, sunscreen, source of shade...More

Yes, it is. When we visited last month, we noted that several couples and families brought their dogs with them.
