Mesmerizing Waterfalls

The falls here are a must-see in Maryland. So beautiful and scenic! I could stand here all day and just watch and listen to the falls. Great for pictures too!

We took our 3 dogs for a hike at Swallow Falls in the fall and it was just beautiful. The trail is relatively short (2 miles?) and a short distance from Deep Creek Lake, so it's ideal if you are looking for a quick picturesque hike at the end of the day. If you are in the area, particularly in... More

The trails from the parking lot were safe and easy to maneuver. The path was slightly downhill, but easy to walk on. There was a great landing area where you could view the falls and get amazing pictures. The rails were strong & safe.

Have been to Swallow Falls many times but hadn't been back in a long time, many things were new, walk was a little cool in October with all the tree cover, but worth the visit.

We visited this park on a weekend escape in October. The falll foliage was inb fukll color. We hiked the trails to all the falls and it was beautiful, breathtaking! The trails are well maintained while keeping as natural as possible. Hiking to swallow falls on the long trail was a bit strenuous at some points for an 'unseasoned' hiker.... More

We were visiting the Deep Creek Lake area on a beautiful Fall day and decided to see the falls at Swallow Falls State Park. We had a lovely 1.5 mile hike through large trees and among rocks and the changing leaves. The falls were very pretty and allowed for many beautiful photos. The last fall (Muddy Creek Falls) was the... More

We went during the peak fall weekend and it was great. I would suggest to go early to avoid crowds. There are 3 falls that we saw. Its not a steep walk. You can access all the falls via two routes - a rocky route that goes via the bottom of the muddy creek falls and an above route which... More
