A little bit of a hike to reach this jewel in Maryland but the reward is beyond what I can write. We were there when there was a good flow over the falls and made for some great pictures. We enjoyed the gift shop there...More
Was a chilly wet 34 degree Saturday morning yet the 5 hour drive was worth it. There are ways to get to the falls for people with disabilities or challenges. It's quiet and peaceful and the people on the trail are friendly. Took me about...More
Trail markings a little wanting but the persistent hiker will be rewarded with peaceful vistas along the water and at the falls. Don’t leave until you come upon the Muddy Creek Falls, tallest in Maryland.
We drove over two hours one way just to walk the trails and see the falls, and we weren't the least bit disappointed. The very wet summer and recent rains meant the water levels were higher than what we've seen in the past, though I...More

If you take the path the left from the parking lot, it will very shortly take you to the top of Muddy Creek Falls (that's the big one). However, to actually get a good look at the falls, you'll have to go down a rather long staircase which takes you to the base of the falls and then, of course, climb the stairs back up. It's well worth it, but not easy if you're comprised physically.
