This is a hidden gem not so far off the interstate! We made it a day trip from Morgantown WV. Very close-up experiences with waterfalls and the lovely scenery around them. We saw three of the four waterfalls marked on the trails, missed Tolliver Falls...More
The views of the falls are terrific. We took some awesome pictures and had a ball. The trails are well-maintained and wide. Take a bathing suit if you want to cool down but the walks are short and shouldn’t bring about any sweat. If you...More
My Daughter and Son-in-law talked us into a camping trip at Swallow Falls State Park. I am not much for camping, but we agreed and ended up having a wonderful time. We hadn't been to Swallow Falls in over 30 years. I forgot how beautiful...More

If you take the path the left from the parking lot, it will very shortly take you to the top of Muddy Creek Falls (that's the big one). However, to actually get a good look at the falls, you'll have to go down a rather long staircase which takes you to the base of the falls and then, of course, climb the stairs back up. It's well worth it, but not easy if you're comprised physically.
