First time tent camping at Swallow Falls State Park. You can make reservations on line (recommended for the weekends as the park was almost full). For weekend camping you have to book Friday and Saturday night. We stayed Saturday and Sunday night and had to book Friday as well. Sunday night, the place cleared out! Nice, shady campsites. A few... More

A nice path past creeks and waterfalls! We really enjoyed our late spring hike! But be aware that Maryland State Parks charge a fee to enter.

I really love Swallow Falls State Park as I also really love its sister park a few miles down the road, Herrington Manor State Park!!! This park has 3 gorgeous waterfalls: Swallow Falls, Tolliver Falls (where I got engaged at!!!), and Muddy Creek Falls!!! This place is also great for tent camping or camping in cabins. I VERY HIGHLY recommend... More

Easy hike to some great falls and breathtaking views. Rocky outcrops along the way and mostly shade along the way make for a cool and enjoyable hike. Handicap access is available.

Spent several hours enjoying the trail around the falls. The hiking is easy to moderately difficult. The falls are not the most amazing I've ever seen, but they are beautiful and not too hard to access. The trail and steps down to the falls are nicely laid out, with easily accessible viewing areas if you don't want to go all... More

Very clean, well-maintained park. We set up a weekend camp early in June. The weather was wonderful. Not too hot and cool enough to snuggled down in our sleeping bags at night. Bathhouse was clean and very close to our site. In fact, it was like our own private bathroom, no other campers around us. Took a quick hike to... More

Stopped by in February after a snow storm and the falls were amazing. The trails aren't the best marked, but we found our way. It can be icy in the winter, but the views are lovely.

The falls are nice, but signage is almost non-existent. If you go, definitely be sure to carry the pamphlet with you.

We traveled to this park. It cost $5/person for out of state residents. It was a nice walk for us and it was adventurous enough for our little guy (3yo). He was able to get in the water at Toviller Falls and he really enjoyed it. We did find that Swallow Falls has 4 sets of falls. Muddy Creek Falls,... More
