My husband and I have hiked here many times with our girls. It is not an easy hike, but if you can manage it there are some stunning views. There are a few places where you need to climb cliffs, balance along rocks, and hike...More

Great hike. Trail A requires you to climb over and around rocks most of the time so it may be difficult for those with knee or feet problems. Take plenty of water. Great views of the river all along the way. You can see across...More

Begin your hike from Anglers Inn (free, limited parking)south of the trail or from north of the trail (near the park entrance) This is a fairly strenuous hike and you'll work up a sweat. Suggested for 8 year old and up. May not be good...More

A hike that involves climbing over large boulders and up and down hills. I enjoyed the challenge of it all and the pride in finishing the adventure. It is NOT for those of us who are physically challenged or those with heart problems. Also, plan...More

This is a lovely and rigorous hike off the C & O canal. I've done it several times and experienced a scrape or two, but each time was a positive experience. If you have bad knees, I would not advise doing some of the climbing...More

This is a favorite. The trail is challenging enough to get your heart beat up (going down a section on all fours because it's that steep) but not so challenging that it's intimidating. The views along the river on top of huge rock formations are...More

I'm trying to decide which part of the trail to do. I have a son who is 4. We do a lot of hiking in west at a variety of national parks but nothing with jumping from large rocks. He can go probably 4 miles. Input and thoughts on this trail?

Thanks everyone. We did it last weekend. The rock wall had my husband and I helping my son but other than that. We were good and we had a blast.
Does anyone know if it is easy to get to airport from here after a hike??

I think you need a car to get to both Dallas international airport and Ronald Reagan Airport . Both are around 25 mins drive
