Fun farmers' market. I am spoiled since I live in Southern California where Farmers' Markets go 12 months of the year. But the market in Old Takoma is great. Nice selection of vegetables and fruits. Compared to SoCal, it is expensive, but there is a good selection.

This is a great market open every Sunday starting at 10am. Leave the dogs at home, and bring your cash and your reusable bags. Great selection of produce, flowers, meats, breads, cheeses, and more!

TP's one of the better farmer's markets in Montgomery County and the people watching, buskers, and streetscape are unmatched.

Took the grandkids up there on Sunday and they were fascinated at the different colors and sizes of tomatoes, eggplants, and stringbeans. Truly a teaching moment for them. They even ate a nectarine for the first time and loved it, quickly going thru my bag of 6! After buying, we wandered down to the playground (1 block away) so they... More

They have the basics covered: veggies, fruits, flowers, baked goods, cheeses, eggs, honey, herbs...All the stands are well displayed and do a brisk business. Nice quality of goods, and good vendors. The locals love it, and it turns into a big party with lots of small kids, dogs, neighbours chatting. However, they only can house it on one block of... More

I love going to the Takoma Park Farmers Market. The variety of fruits, vegetables, eggs, cheeses, meats and crafts is always wonderful. The people are friendly and everyone seems to be out for good buys and a good time.

Even in the winter there are plenty of vendors with choices for every menu. Farmers offer apples, root vegetables and some magnificent mushrooms! The Cherry Glen Goat Cheese Company sells Monocacy Ash, Monocacy Gold and Monocacy Chipotle (all named for a local river in Maryland); other stands sell local organic meat products, eggs and bakery goods (from Atwaters in Baltimore).... Open every Sunday of the year except for Christmas Sundays, The farmer's market is both a great market and a meeting place for neighbors, friends. Because it requires the farmer to be local, you see and smell the seasons change in what is available. On a sunny day there is nothing like looking over the colorful mushrooms, apples, flowers and... One of the best parts of the TP farmers' market is the warm environment. Whether you're running into friends or chatting with strangers, it feels very much like community. The produce, cheeses, meats, mushrooms, and -especially- Atwater's baked goods are all delicious. Only drawback is it can be pricey. But they have a great program for people using WIC: they... More
