We walked around the grounds and along the canal from the aqueduct to the locks. The visitor center is small but has some good information to help guide your visit, including a nice walking tour brochure. There are some projects underway related to putting the...More

My friend and I rode the C&O Canal Trail from Cumberland, MD to Washington, D.C. over 3 days. Williamsport was our first stop after 85 miles. It was a great adventure. The trail is beautiful and easy to ride.

The volunteer on site on April 22 made this site even more meaningful. Nice small store and warehouse by great canal outdoor sites. Worth the stop. This is an NPS passport site.

I traveled the C & O Towpath on a bicycle with a group of five other women. Fortunately, we had nice, dry weather. The stretch from Cumberland to Little Orleans was muddy and full of ruts....it took us "forever" to get through that, but at...More

Walk, run, bike, enjoy! Beautiful, serene location to relax or exercise. And, then eat at Desert Rose just up the street to make it a wonderful day.
