Hubby & I spent a beautiful Sunday exploring south east coastal MA. We decided to check out this state beach. We love Horse Neck Beach in Westport so we thought Demarest next town over would be just as nice. Oh boy we're we wrong! First off, in the off season, the gate to the beach is closed so you need... A great beach to visit in or off season. Park outside the gate when closed but don't block access. The walk in and out is short and pleasant. The beach here can be rocky or sandy with several exposed sand bars at low tide. You can ski explore the tidal and salt marsh areas or hike the couple of trails.... More

If only the state spent some money to clear the rocks it would be the perfect beach, the water was clear and warm. Good picnic area too for families. Life guards on duty which is a plus. The out houses were disgusting, not sure of the restrooms

Nice shallow beach with multiple sandbars. Lifeguards during peak summer only. Ample parking and restrooms with outdoor showers. Only the far end of the beach has sand. Great for little kids and older kids for exploring!

A beach with several sand bars at low tide that allow you go our a very far distance from shore. Be careful for the incoming time so you are not stranding in water too deep. Picnic facilities, bathhouse, restrooms and parking are all available.

We spent about 15 minutes walking around the park. It was very rocky and the children had a difficult time manuvering around the rocks. We didn't find much to do. We should have taken notice of the empty parking lot and the sign that stated NO REFUNDS ON PARKING. They did have a picnic area away from the water, but... More

If you are looking for a wonderful sandy beach and water to swim in, this is not the place. At high tide there is small section of beach. Section to the right are more rocky while to the left there is sand. As the tide went out we saw why we struggled to get into the water. Rocks - lots... More

I went to his beach when I was a child, but now it is nothing but rocks. This beach is solid rock from end to end. The state should fix this and maybe more people would visit this beach again. Sad. Clean modern bathrooms and showers are available.

If you like Sandy beaches, Demarest Lloyd is not the place for you. This state beach is a typical rocky New England beach with a narrow strip of sand before the shore. I love it because it is never crowded. People have to pick spots next to each with plenty of room. There is never anyone to block the gorgeous... More
