Green Brier Nature Center and Jam Kitchen provides a glimpse into the past. Both the wonderful people that work there and the uniqueness and richness of the experience are well worth the trip. It is a gentle setting with now expanded parking. The jams are wonderful and if you can take a jam making class, all the better. Many educational... More

I had the pleasure of taking a 2 hour jam making class. Although the fee is a bit pricey, I left with 6 jars of Holiday Berry Jam, which will make a nice addition to Christmas gift baskets. Preservative free, this recipe is a mixture of strawberries and local cranberries, with a hint of cinnamon. Nancy was our fabulous teacher,... More

This makes a great pre-lunch outing. The trails are beautiful, and the museum is very interesting. The jam kitchen is a really enjoyable hands-on visit.

This jam kitchen and nature center have so much to offer! Naturalists on site, animals, nature programs, canoe trips! Thornton Burgess... a famous author who wrote numerous children's books basing the animal characters in his books on the animals he observed in this very briar patch! Take a jam making class and bring home some wonderful stories from the gift... More

Very small but quaint nature center with a half dozen animals that can't be released into the wild. The highlights here are the grounds with the very manageable walking trails surrounding a large pond with a pair of swans, a working jam & jelly kitchen, nice gift shop and a charming Musuem dedicated to Sandwich native & children's book author... Always enjoy stopping at the Green Briar Nature Center. We love all the jams, jellies, etc., and it is great to walk through the kitchen where the production takes place. Also, the garden and idyllic pond in the backyard are quite lovely. The swan will pose for a closeup photo if you're lucky!

We really had no idea about this place before we decided to visit. We were drawn there by a wood carving exhibit which was excellent. The center seems to have ad hoc events like this throughout the year. The carvers were extremely talented. This did have the effect that some if the normal exhibits about Thornton Burgess were a little... More

This is the finest place we visited on a 10 day trip to Massachusetts, we actually went twice! There are beautiful grounds where you can bring a picnic or just sit at the swan lake, use the walking trails, a gift shop, a jam kitchen, a library and a small Thornton Burgess museum. I found very reasonably priced gifts for... More

I've been to Green Briar twice. Once to attend a jam-making class, which was a lot of fun and a second time to show my granddaughters where Peter Rabbit was from!

This time I spent more time outside in the beautiful gardens and trails. The swans on the pond even came up close to us. Some live animals in the Green Briar Nature Center. There is a jam kitchen that wasn't being used when I was there, but you still could walk through it. The gift shop has lots of items... More
