Amid the delicious smells from the jam kitchen, take the time to stroll through a library and display room of Thornton Burgess memorabilia. If you're familiar with his stories you'll feel like a kid again. If the world and stories of Thornton Burgess are new to you, ask the librarian to find "The Most Beautiful Thing in the World" for... Green Briar offers many programs of interest to all ages. My children have attended special events such as Night time Halloween forest walks and kayak overnights. The staff makes each event special. I have enjoyed jam making workshops with my children and with adult groups. It is wonderful to be able to say you made your own jam. The grounds... More

I booked a private jam-making class at Green Briar for a late April bachelorette party weekend on the Cape. It turned out to be the highlight of our trip! Our instructor, Nancy, greeted us warmly and showed us into a gorgeous, quaint, country kitchen where we could see strawberries, rhubarb, and jam pots waiting! We had the place to ourselves... More

After living practically across the street from the Green Briar Nature Center for 8 years I recently went to a jam making session. What a great time I had! I make jam in my own kitchen but, still was able to learn and come away with several jars of Pear,Apple, Cranberry jam and it is a big hit here at... More

On an autumn trip to Cape Cod, my husband and I stopped in here, hoping to buy some jam. But we ended up spending ages here! We love old libraries, so the Thornton W Burgess library was a lovely place to sit and read for a while. The little gallery with his books and an exhibition about surf fishing was... More

This property was the setting for the stories of Peter Rabbit and friends, written in the late 18th Century. I've taken a nephew to walk the paths of Peter Rabbit, as well as choose from a library of these books for his early reading. There is an entire program for nature education for the little ones also. Inside art and... More

What a quaint and interesting place to visit. And the variety of jams, jellies, chutney's, etc. is outstanding. It is a place I would like to take time to visit again, and make my own jam or jelly. There is something to be learned here, about Thornton Burgess, and just loved the live bunnies who live there.

It was raining so we only went to the Jam Kitchen and that was interesting to watch them prepare jams and relishes. The kitchen is open and the smell was wonderful. Watch out if you have small children because the pans and burners are all within their reach.
