Great view, adequate changing facilities, and the seals swimming by were great fun to watch. swimming's fairly good (warning: COLD!), though the beach is pebbly and shelly in many spots, and the surf can get rough. It's also one of the more central beaches in...More

The working lighthouse is a pleasant sight, and you can walk up. Nearby Three Sister's (hidden in the back woods) is merely a history relic. Similar to Marconi (walk down by stairway and seals), and close to Coast Guard.

Beach has bathrooms and sprays (showers and feet) and lots of seals. Was there at the end of August and didn't find it overly crowded although it's trickier to secure parking in the afternoon. Saw many seals popping their heads out of the water. Waves...More

Clean and quiet area.... even the public shower and bathroom was very clean. Although water was a bit cold (end of Aug) but it was a nice area to spend hours reading on the beach

This was a quiet beach run by the National Park Service. You can park here and just walk down to the beach (but be forewarned: there are many steps). It is less crowded and great to watch the seals swim by. Swimming is more difficult...More

Even at the peak of the season, you don't feel the crowds (unless you choose to stay right under the lifeguard seat). The beach seems to never end. When we were there, there were seals swimming close to the shore.

Had a great time. Water is freezing but watching the seals swim by is all worth it. Not crowded and brought our two dogs who had plenty of other dogs to play with.

Thanks to to FDR for making it possible for all who have a lifetime Senior Pass to go to all national parks and beaches free. Nauset Beach gave me many precious memories of what NY beaches were like - beautiful and clean.

During July and August the parking lot is often filled by 10:00 or 10:30. It opens again later in the afternoon. Good Luck.
