Looking for a couple of hours of peace and quiet while enjoying a little walking we visited Arcadia. I had completely forgotten that summer camps have started up and so when we arrived the staff were very busy organizing. Despite that, they soon had us...More

For beauty, serenity, and diverse wildlife, this sanctuary run by the Massachusetts Audubon Society is hard to beat. There are miles of trails through woodlands, marshes, and field, along lakes and rivers. Unfortunately (perhaps understandably) dogs are prohibited. This is a sweet, quiet way to...More

Our family of four decided to check out this sweet little paradise late afternoon and were rewarded with a fun and adventurous hike. The visitors center was staffed with an extremely friendly and informative fellow who pointed out on the map a short hike that...More

As members of the Audubon, we enjoyed visiting this large property in Easthampton, MA. We enjoyed a peaceful walk along the Mill River, and climbed up the winding staircase of the tower. We were struck by how low the water level was. By contrast, it...More

Loved the shaded paths by the Mill river. The bird observatory station (up a 25' winding staircase) is cool. What is amazing is the see the "1936 flood high-water mark" sign almost at the top of the staircase.

Came here with my son in his stroller and other family with young children. We strolled along Mill River and enjoyed a lunch on the picnic tables in the park. There is a $4 admission fee but that seems like a suggestion. We gave some...More

Easy access and natural beauty in the midst of Northampton and Easthampton. Easy parking and a comfortable visitors' center. Trails are easy and there's boating opportunities, too. Always people enjoying the natural beauty. Includes several habitats not widely available, like grasslands and riparian forest.

Arcadia is a wildlife sanctuary with several interconnected trails that allow exposure to woodlands, fields, and water views. There is a very nice little nature center with things in display. This is a rather good place to watch birds if you arrive at the right...More

We went here for the first bird festival. Did a little walking along the trails through the woods and along the water. Trails are nicely marked. Visitor center has maps. Workers are knowledgeable and seem to love their job. If you love birding or just...More

Nicely laid out trails by OxBow basin, river. Good wildlife sighting, and very helpful staff at visitor centre. Good for kids and families. Aside from birds, frogs, toads, we saw beaver working on his/her dam
