Hiked thru Sheriff's Meadow Sanctuary and it was just delightful. If offers dappled shade in many areas which is especially welcome on a hot day. Especially enjoyed the carpet of fragrant pine needles at the entrance of the sanctuary.

This is a great little trail that we found by accident while walking in the evening. It is not a huge sanctuary, but there is a nice trail that leads you around a pond and that also offers lovely ocean views, with a nice spot...More

We walk the Brooks Trail at Sheriff's Meadow whenever we visit the island (throughout the year) for a lovely respite in a natural and beautiful setting. The trail is flat and travels for approx .5 miles through meadow, marsh, and pond(s). Trail guide:

There are several foundations for land preservation on the Vineyard. They are incredible! There are travel guides available in book shops that focus on these many, many walks and bike trails. These organizations not only keep a huge percentage of Vineyard land unspoiled, the trails...More
