For just a few dollars more, you can make the trip to Martha's Vineyard on a smaller ferry with less crowds, and less hassles. Parking is only a few hundred feet from the Ferry. Get to the peer early during peak times (early morning on the weekends), tickets cannot be pre-purchased and seating is limited. Courteous & friendly staff. Cash... More

My husband and i had a great round trip on the Island Queen. We love Martha's Vineyard, it's a beautiful day. The ferry is clean and the staff are very professional and well trained.

This ferry is frequent and convenient with trips over too MV in 35 minutes. We chose the Island Queen as the other option was far more expensive. The views from the boat are great leaving Falmouth and arriving in MV. It's a great start and finish to a day trip. Just remember it's cash only!

We were recommended the Island Queen by our B&B in Falmouth, as a quick, clean and reliable service (it was all of those!) and as a way of getting to the Vineyard without the Wood's Hole traffic, which is a big plus! I thought the $20 return ticket was good value too.

We stayed at a property near the Island Queen dock. It was a nice walk to the ship. One we arrived, buying tickets was easy and the staff was friendly. The ship left on time, has 3 decks with a snack bar on deck 1. There are places to sit in or out of the sun. The ride takes 45... More

We chose this Island ferry to Martha's Vineyard because it was convenient - no shuffling on buses or multiple stops.

Based on our research, this is by far the least expensive ferry to Martha's Vineyard. The downside, however, is that there is not guaranteed seating. You have to arrive well ahead of the departure time to be comfortable that you will get a seat on the ferry We did not have any issues with not having a seat, but just... More

The cost was reasonable. The employees were all very upbeat and pleasant from the parking attendants to the crew who even came around and kept drying the chairs as it was sprinkling the day we went from Falmouth to Martha's Vineyard.

the island queen itself is great. the ride to MV and back is pretty quick and painless. HOWEVER, one feels like herded cattle being told to show up 45 minutes before shove off. Next time i go, i will drive to Woods hole on a largewr ferry where you dont need to show up so far in advance.

We use the Island Queen when we get bored riding the same routes around Falmouth/Bourne/Sandwich/Mashpee and we splurge on a day on Martha's Vineyard. The IQ is fast and comfortable, and has good bike storage in the rear of the lower deck.
