This park is walkable from downtown Gloucester. There is a fine playground, dog park, picnic tables with an adjacent sandy beach, volleyball area, baseball diamond and a short walk further are an old cannon emplacement and a vest pocket beach. Great views abound. Parking along Western avenue is free. There is a large parking lot in the park; a fee... More

While on a road trip to the throughout the Boston area, we came upon this wonderful park. we only stopped at first to stretch our legs...and ended up spending two hours here. We ate a picnic lunch overlooking Half Moon Beach. There were some children groups there picnicking and enjoying the green grass and the sunshine. Awesome views and plenty... More

Great place for a walk, a BBQ, or just to relax. Beautiful view. Nice Gazebo with ocean view that can be rented for a couple hours from the town for Wedding ceremonies.

A beautiful park which provides local residents with ballfields, beaches, playgrounds, and boulders to climb on. Nice visitors' center there staffed by volunteers. The Tablet Rock was truly impressive. We never did find the remains of the fort, or anyone who could tell us about it, despite the information in the brochure we picked up called "Walk the Gloucester Maritime... More

Stage Fort Park has 2 beaches - Cressy's, which is rather rocky, and the more popular Half Moon beach, which is sandy and good for families. There are lots of places to walk and explore, on the water and up higher in the park. Stage Fort is also the home of the Gloucester Dog Park, which is a wonderful facility.... More

This is great place for family fun - BBQ (gas and coal), beaches, playgrounds, and even Scuba divers have their parties and dives here. Parking is little bit expansive though, so it better carpooling. However, overall this is a great place for family fun.

Found this place by accident. Loved the beautiful scenery and the people in the visitors center were fabulous. Gave us great suggestions and directions. The granite rocks along the shore were stunning and easy to climb on - there are granite stairs that wind thru the rocks and woods. Had a picnic lunch at one of the many tables there.... More

This is an amazing park and a great place for a family day. The beaches are beautiful and the playground is in great shape. We spent most of our visit at this park with our young son we all had a great time and are looking forward to returning in the future.

What a wonderful visitor's center! We were just going to stop in and get some brochures and use the restrooms. We ended up staying for a few hours. The location is beautiful. The visitor's center was full of interesting information and tons of brochures. The restrooms located in the back of the building were clean. The staff was so friendly... More

After driving into town and becoming thoroughly confused as to where to catch a cruise, we blundered into Stage Fort Park. The folks at the welcome center were very helpful and enabled us to plan our stay and get to the right places. The park is lovely and has a great elevated view of the harbor. It's just a short...
