How fortunate Gloucester is to have a park right on the water. I always try to visualize the early settlers as they dried their "catch" on the racks set up around in stages in the Stage Fort Park. The view on a nice dry day...More

Always a favorite. The views are beautiful and the small beach is great for hunting for sea glass. Don't miss the cannons and find your way on top of the large boulders. The dog park is a great feature also.

We went on a Tuesday after Labor Day. There was no parking fee but the normally $10 fee is well worth it. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. There are public restrooms as well as foot showers near the beach. A lot of space,...More

This park initially may appear small, however it has much to offer. There are coastal walking trails ( that connect to the Fisherman's Memorial Monument) , beach, large granite rock outcroppings, and spectacular views. Reasonable parking fees, with attendants, as well as a visitors center...More

We visited the water festival taking place here. We parked away from this venue as it was very busy. The event hosted a display of old cars which were interesting. There was also a range of stalls with home made jewellery and art work and...More

Visited yesterday with a friend who needs shade. Gentle waves and lifeguards would make this a wonderful beach for kids. Some parts are sandy and others are rocky. There are tide pools at low tide. Water was clear but they was some floating seaweed. I...More

This is the featured park area of Gloucester. On a hill above the harbor, looking back at the city, it also has the information center and PARKING and a shuttle to attractions (seasonally).

I have never noticed a gas grille at the park. I would think a gas grille is more practical and safer than charcoal. They have receptacles for the hot charcoals for your conveyance. If you want to make sure then I would... More
