Terrific historical attraction.

I am surprised by the wealth of antiquity and history. Many historical figures who changed the history of the USA are among the list of visitors.

Not the most exciting historic house in the region. Our guide was very knowledgeable, but the story is just not that interesting, particularly if you are not from Gloucester.

There are so many things to do in Gloucester; and this place definitely should be on your list. Guided tours make your visit so much more interesting than places where you just wander around wondering what you are looking at. Centrally located in the downtown area, the Sargent House is lovingly preserved as a tribute to the glory of Gloucester's... More

As you stroll down the quaint West End of Gloucester's downtown Main Street, you will stumble upon this lovely old historic home. We live in Gloucester and had never taken a tour, yet I pass this house every day on my way to work. So, one day last summer, we were taking a "stay-cation" on our very own Cape Ann... More

A great tour with great information about Judith Sargent Murray, a woman who wrote essays that were both brilliant and funny and pointed to equality between men and women long before that was a common perspective. The house had amazing interior detail, furniture and paintings. Well worth a visit! I'll be back!

If you like history, this is a great place to spend one hour. Admission in $10, and the knowledge of the tour guide was outstanding. Her stories made it come alive - especially the information on Judith Sargent Murray. Going to places like this really help my understanding and appreciation of an area.

This was one of my favorite places in Gloucester. Judith Sargent Murray was a fascinating woman and just hearing her story was worth the price of admission.

Having grown up in the shadow of the Sargent House Museum, it took me many, many years to finally visit. The guides are knowledgable and you can see the house and it's grandeur - while someone faded, you can envision another time easilty. It's not huge and your visit will be 30-45 minutes, but very worthwhile.
