My husband & I love to be out on the ocean & this ride was a highlight of our vacation. Harold, the pilot AND the builder of the Ardelle, was great. He worked his way around the deck talking to everyone, answering questions & making us laugh. There was no wind outside the harbor, so we sailed around Gloucester Harbor,... More

Harold, Alden, and Perry provided such a personalized touch to our afternoon sail - such amazing family spirit, admiration and respect. Loved the stories, the history, and the heart and soul that went into building the Ardelle - and the wonderful connection with the community. The sail was relaxing and very picturesque - exceeded expectations!

This was our first time sailing and we loved every minute of it. The weather was perfect for a day on the harbor. The captain and the rest of his staff couldn't have been more professional and nicer. You truly felt like a special guest of theirs. Captain Burnham was sincerely happy to have everyone aboard his beautiful boat and... More

Not at all as advertised, and a real rip off! We were supposed to board 15 min prior to leaving dock for our "sailing adventure" of 2 hours. We were all were waiting patiently, ship ready but no one came out until 10 min after posted sail time so finally got underway about 15 min AFTER scheduled departure. Once past... More

Spontaneously sailed one evening with husband, teen and tween. This was a highlight of our trip to Cape Ann! Captain Harold shared his passion for shipbuilding and was so friendly and enthusiastic. Our kids adored the firing of the cannon, and we loved the dramatic reading of Longfellow's "The Wreck of the Hesperus" as we passed by Norman's Woe. Highly... More

Down-to-earth Captain sharing his passion for shipbuilding! We took the sunset tour on a beautiful night and enjoyed his commentary about what we were seeing, as well as the history of how he built his schooner, while my husband and son-in-law volunteered to raise the sails. A lovely way to spend 2 hrs. Parking available. Definitely worth the money!

Boat trip of Gloucester Harbor was great. Boat is very smooth and the harbor is very scenic. You can help the crew put up the sails or just kick back and enjoy a beverage. Boat crew is super friendly and helpful. A nice relaxing two-hour boat trip on a beautiful sailboat. Beer, water, and snacks sold on board for reasonable... More

Took our 12 year old out for the trip. She got to raise the sails and she had a great time. Harold told us about the history of the boat and was a great captain. It is definitely worth your time and money to take the trip.

We enjoyed a fabulous two hours on the Ardelle. Perfect weather and crew! Although the Pinky Ardelle is smaller than a schooner we enjoyed the fresh air a occasional spray of salt water in our faces!

We took a delightful two hour sail on the Pinky Schooner Ardelle. The sailing conditions could not have been more perfect- steady breeze, beautiful seas, knowledgeable and informative skipper and first mate. We helped to hoist sails, participated in some fun theatrics, toasted the day with refreshments (available for sale), and had a lovely, leisurely cruise around the harbor. It... More
