Went with a group

Very pleasant place for a walk solo or with others, 30-minute drive from Boston (depending on traffic.) We had a DCR Ranger lead our group hike, most enjoyable Sunday afternoon.

It is a pleasant place to walk, ride a bike and don't forget to drink the well-water. It's very easy to find, and it's quiet. It's a good place to commune with nature.

This is an average campground, but its proximity to Boston can't be beat! There are decent hiking trails and the bathroom and shower facilities are good.

We traveled all across the US last Summer and this was our favorite campground. The woods are really beautiful here and it's so close by train to visit the city. The sites have plenty of room between them. My only criticism would be that the showers are pretty old and not much pressure. Could do with some updating to keep... More

This property was a military base with interesting buildings. It is easy to walk or bike with paved roads as well as off road trails.

If you want to fell like you are in the Forrest but minutes away from Boston or the Beach, then wampatuck is the place to go. It's an institution of the south shore of Boston.

Often times we see no one, other times there are cyclist, joggers and dog walkers. But always, there is enough acreage to find the calm and beauty of the woods. Our only criticism that keeps us from not rating the Park Excellent, is we still get lost with the markers not always so clear! Happily, we have never been lost... More

Beautiful wooded park with loads of biking and walking trails. A hidden treasure with an entrance in a residential neighborhood.
