The mountain itself (632') and the Trustees of the Reservation named Little Tom Mountain is no particularly easy to access. There are plenty of trails but the closest parking to trails in the reservation are over a mile from the reservation proper. I chose to run in from the Closed road near the Whiting Reservoir which gave me 1.5 miles... More

I usually walk 6 miles everyday so this wasn't overly strenuous with the group I went with but you can make it either easier or harder depending on your liking. The foilage was still tiny buds-barely. In a month or so it should be green all around with all of the spring plants growing! Lots of rocks on the paths... More

Little Tom is a 73 acre Trustees property on the eastern slope of Mt Tom in Holyoke. It is a pretty forested area with an out-and-back trail, the Woodland Trail, and a vernal pool/pond. We hiked this with friends who hike it all the time. Lots of exercise. if you aren't in shape (me), take it easy.
