Lovely home turned museum

Always a work in progress as this home was in disrepair and is renovated step by step as funds are raised, I believe.

Visited this amazing jewel; was very pleasantly surprised to learn of the history which led up to the existence of this mansion! There were pictures of this mansion when it was in ruins to compare to what has been restored. Truly amazing! The very pleasant and knowledgeable docent presented a truly engaging description of the beginnings up to present time... More

We visited the mansion late in the day and though there were two us, the docent was informative and spent time with us answering questions about the history of the mansion and the various owners. It is a must see for those interested in history and the gilded age era with its opulence of the times.

Interesting view into life during the guilded age. Docent was great. He knew so much history of the area. Most of the house has been restored but does not include any original furnishings.

I took the tour with a friend and we were so impressed with the beauty of the estate we are planning the prom for the class that we are advisors for at the Lenox High School.

If you are a rehab addict like I am or an architect fiend, you will find this tour fascinating. Poor old house has gone through many hands and years of neglect, but has been saved by the good women of Lenox. Restored rooms have been brought to their original glory with love and care, but found furniture, not necessarily original... More

Im am a big fan of historic houses, the tour guide was very knowledgable and cute. This place was beautiful without being fake, it was restored modestly.

The family history told by our two guides was so interesting. The house is very beautiful but only half of the place has been restored so far. It is interesting to see the differences in the renovations to date.

This is a very nice excursion for a morning or afternoon. Unlike the huge Newport "cottages", this one is easy to digest in a short time. It's particularly amazing when you see the disrepair the place was in only a couple of decades ago. It's just as educational to see the reconstruction work as it is to see the original... More
