About
Surrounded by rural countryside, a visit to the Drayton Festival Theatre offers a pleasant drive along quiet roads where common sights include farm-gate signs and roadside stands that will tempt you to stop and make an impromptu purchase of fresh produce, flowers and maple syrup. Occasionally you'll pass an Old Order Mennonite horse-drawn buggy that so eloquently reminds us of life's simple pleasures. The Drayton Festival Theatre is located in a historic 1902 Opera House that contains 375 seats and boasts marvellous acoustics with a main floor and balcony. This celebrated building once served as the Town Hall and housed the Fire Department, Library, Jail, and Council Chambers. With such a varied past, this completely modernized facility is a must-see!

    Fabulous!
I saw The Buddy Holly Story this sfternoon! What a fabulous show! Congratulations to everyone, especially "Buddy" who even came on our bus at the end of the performance, for a brief encore! This production deserves to be seen in a bigger venue by a larger audience! It's that good! Well done!
It sounds like you had a great time! Thanks for sharing your review with us.

    Everyone should see this play.
We saw The New Canadian Curling Club at Drayton Frstival Theatre and thought it was very very good . The acting was excellent and the casting was perfect. We enjoyed the humour and also learned a lot about the lives of immigrants and new Canadians. The only negative would be the language was a bit much could have been toned down . Otherwise just a great show .

    Immigration and racism Eye opener
We saw the New Canadian Curling Club at Drayton on July 19. It was, I think, a sold out performance, and they received a well earned standing ovation at the end. This was one of the best performances that we have seen at Drayton over many years. The first half of the performance was filled with audience laughter and the second half was quieter as the true aspects of the show shone through. This show deserves a wider audience than it is getting. It truly needs to be seen by all age groups and ethnic groups. It is an eye opener for all. Thank you for brining this show to us. The language was sometimes a bit raw but that is what life is about. We truly enjoyed the show. Thank you

    Shaboom Is Worth Seeing
Have seen many shows over the years in Drayton, St. Jacobs, and King's Wharf in Penetang. The most recent was Shaboom which was very well done. The actors were all great and played their roles well and there was humour injected throughout the performance. My friend and I both left with a smile on our faces. I have noticed that in some performances I have seen more recently, though not in Shaboom itself, there has been some vulgar language and taking the Lord's name in vain. Personally, I don't feel there is ever a need for that as it actually detracts from the performance and I also believe that it should be clearly indicated whether there is ANY profanity or inappropriate language similar to how it is indicated if a show involves a mature theme. This would allow patrons to make an informed decision about whether to purchase tickets to see a performance.
Thank you for joining us! We're glad that you enjoyed the show.

    SSSH-BOOM MORE THAN A HIT
We saw the musical SSSH-BOOM and although I've never been disappointed with a Drayton production this one was over the top. 5 terrific performers all with incredible voices; a fun story in a beautiful old theatre. What could be better!
Thank you for your kind review! We're so pleased that you had a great time.

I saw "Sh-Boom! - Life Could Be A Dream" on Sunday August 27 at the Drayton Festival Theatre.
This show was fantastic entertainment in every way!
The cast had amazing voices, great comedic abilities, and never missed a beat from beginning to end. The Radio DJ, played by Neil Aitchison was hilarious and had the audience in stitches in every one of his scenes.
The direction by David Roger was witty and sharp, the choreography by David Hogan was brilliantly inventive, and the script by Roger Bean generated non-stop laughter.
Costumes, sound, set - all perfect!
Another smash hit for Drayton Entertainment! Loved every second of it!

My husband and I went to see Buddy Holly and now again just visited the Drayton theater to see Sha-Boom. Both were fabulous shows. I love all of the Drayton theatres and I highly recommend.
