About
Surrounded by rural countryside, a visit to the Drayton Festival Theatre offers a pleasant drive along quiet roads where common sights include farm-gate signs and roadside stands that will tempt you to stop and make an impromptu purchase of fresh produce, flowers and maple syrup. Occasionally you'll pass an Old Order Mennonite horse-drawn buggy that so eloquently reminds us of life's simple pleasures.The Drayton Festival Theatre is located in a historic 1902 Opera House that contains 375 seats and boasts marvellous acoustics with a main floor and balcony. This celebrated building once served as the Town Hall and housed the Fire Department, Library, Jail, and Council Chambers. With such a varied past, this completely modernized facility is a must-see!

We came from Brantford (I came from New Brunswick) to see Buying the Farm and just loved it! The theatre is beautiful and we even made use of the 'preorder' for our intermission refreshments. A wonderful experience!

Great theatre and a nice quiet town for some walking

Theatre comfortable and sufficient leg room. We had to climb a stair to get in but there is an elevator for those who cannot. Theatre not terribly full but no doubt Covid still having effects.
Buying the Farm is an enjoyable relaxed play with lots of laughs. Thoroughly recommend seeing it.
We took in some of the trails around Drayton while we there .

Great seats! Row k...One can see from anywhere as the theatre is intimate!
Enjoyed the show!
Current as farms in Ontario are disappearing at a rapid rate!

Awesome Play in a Great Theatre

This is a great little theatre. Easy to get to and lots of parking around the area. Volunteers were very friendly and helpful. Theatre is clean with easy access to bathroom facilities. The lounge is nice and drink prices were reasonable. The play was really good and the calibre of acting was excellent! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!

Lovely Theatre - Accessible for Hearing Restricted Folks

We saw a wonderful production at this lovely theatre, and we appreciated that they still offer a reduced capacity option for some of their shows. We are also ecstatic to discover they offer a device that provides additional support for folks who are hearing impaired, so my grandmother was able to fully appreciate the show. We will definitely be back. Something to remember if you visit is that the restroom is on the first floor, so it may be advisable to visit it before you find your seats.

A Beautiful drive brought farming country!

Outstanding!

Just outstanding! One of the BEST musicals we have ever seen! Amazing talent!
After the first half of the show, we thought it couldn’t get any better and then came the second half! It was every bit as spectacular! The wide array of music demonstrated clearly the exceptional level of talent. There was lots of subtle comedy throughout. Overall, we would be pleased to recommend it to our friends.
Unfortunately, yesterday was the last performance at the Playhouse in Grand Bend.
Congrats to all involved in the production!

Little known fact ... the Drayton Festival Theatre is housed in a 1902 Opera House, and was extremely popular during the vaudeville era of the 1930s. The original tin ceiling is still intact in the theatre auditorium. Thanks for joining us!
