I have been to the Smith College botanical garden and the Spring Flower Show before, but today we visited the greenhouse filled with gorgeous crysanthamums. Walls of color, beautiful varieties, and overall a well done display. Most of the flowers were at peak bloom.

This quirky greenhouse and garden is well worth a stop if you are in Northampton. The greenhouse rooms go on and on, and the sheer quantity of plants is astounding. Children (and adults) will be delighted at the unusual specimens.

This place is a delight to the eye. It is a great place to visit through the seasons. In November they offer the Fall Chrysanthemum Show which I understand gives one a new meaning to both autumn and chrysanthemums. Can't wait to go back.

Every year The Spring Bulb Show dazzles with brightly colored and aromatic flowers. A must see to shake of winter.

First of all, the entire Smith College campus is one large, living garden and arboretum in itself. Laid out over a hundred years earlier, according to an Olmsted plan, it is filled with gigantic specimens of native and exotic tree. There a quite a few enormous and majestic American Elm trees that have been spared from Dutch Elm disease. What... More

I'm a frequent visitor. I love going at odd times like a Tuesday morning to enjoy peace and quiet and contemplate the only cacao and coffee trees I know of in Massachusetts. The spring Bulb Show and fall Mum show are always a treat for the eyes and nose, but it can be as crowded as a NYC subway car... More
