Not very large but nice and well maintained gardens. Green house has lots of information and apparently you can use an audio guide to get information regarding the many plants there.

The Smith Conservatory and campus is an oasis of botanical beauty in any season - the campus is an arboretum designed by Frederick Law Olmsted and the glass houses of the conservatory have a dazzling array of plants - a must see!

Walking through the gardens, both inside and outside is a wonderful way to spend an afternoon. Well tended and plants are nicely labeled.

The Smith College Botanical Gardens includes greenhouses and outdoor plantings. Each greenhouse is devoted to a climate and associated plants. My favorite was the palm house, with large plants reaching two stories high. Some of the rooms have walkways and seating to enjoy the surrounding...More

Thanks again for the sensory explosion Smith. I left feeling content yet again! Gorgeous plants, wonderful smells and a place for the kiddies to roam. Thank you.

What a special place in the heart of Smith's campus. I did not appreciate this place enough when I was a student, but have really grown to love it on my trips back to campus.

Stopped by this beautiful garden while biking locally. It was small but had many interesting bushes, trees and flowers. The greenhouses were full of flora as well. Definitely worth seeing if you have a spare hour or more if you bring a picnic lunch.

According to the web site it is open today. Even if the greenhouses are not open, the gardens and the grounds are gorgeous. You may call for more info.1-413-585-2740

I agree - 1-2 hours should be sufficient especially at tis time of year. The outside gardens may not have much to offer.
