The Flying Horses Carousel is the oldest, operating carousel in the United States. It has all the charm of years gone by, and for the low price of $2.50, you cannot go wrong. If you happen to hit it at the right time, there is no waiting, and you get to grab for rings as you go round, and round,... More

While it may not be fancy or elaborate, as far as carousels go, you are riding the oldest carousel in the country! Your butt is riding a piece of history! My kids absolutely loved it! How many of these old rides still exist where you reach for the brass ring to get a free ride? Classic! This is a "must... More

The most fun a toddler can have on a boardwalk, anywhere. Everything is SUPER clean, and at only $2.50 a ride (1 parent/guardian rides free), the price is right - for 2014. Misses 5 stars because there's no public bathrooms... however, you can walk across the street to a public facility in about 90 seconds.

I believe this is the oldest working carousel in this country. If I'm wrong on that forgive me. It's a big attraction for Oak Bluffs and worth the wait in line. Kids have the chance to reach for the brass ring. If you collect the most rings you get a free ride. They also have games so it's a great... More

I enjoyed this many times as a kid, with friends and it was part of a wonderful summer. One that I will never forget! I have returned a few times as an adult and my kids enjoyed the "Flying Horses" as well. You are never too old to enjoy this marvelous treat! Oh by the way, the date that I... More

It's a big tradition! The oldest carousel in the country, I think! You get to try to catch the brass ring and get a free ride! Fun for all ages because there's an outside track for older "kids" and an inside track for the young ones. It's just a piece of Americana kids and adults love! And it's inexpensive!

We have taken our grandchildren here for the past three years , and have always had so much fun, especially with the brass rings! In fact , I personally like to ride the horses as well! Great in Fall, Spring and Summer- have not visited in Winter . A must if you visit the Vineyard !

It is a cool old carousel and my daughter had a great time riding it and grabbing for the brass ring. If you have a little one or a child with short arms pick an inside horse so they can reach for the rings; bigger kids will have no problem reaching the rings on the outside. There was a bit... More

If you are into Carousels, this one is not to be missed. It is an original and worth the stopping for to take a ride on a piece of history. Yes, they have a :brass ring" too...that is if you are lucky enought to get the brass ring (free ride).

I had many friends tell me to check this out on my trip to Martha's Vineyard and for the memories I am glad I did. My boys liked trying to grab the rings. They are young so they didn't get many, but it helped entertain them on the boring ride. Line wasn't long at all. Think it would be better... More
