Just got back from Balsam Lake Provincial park. We stayed at the single lonesome cottage on site, which we booked WAY in advance (back in February I think). I was hesitant. Reason being that there were no pics of cottage before going... but rest assured...More
Despite the fire ban, our visit was very enjoyable. Ontario continues to surprise me with another beautiful location. The beach was clean and not over crowded. The bathrooms were clean no matter when I visited. I was very excited to see a little park store...More

This is a great provincial park for day use. They have a wonderful beach that leads into a shallow part of the lake. Great for kids - they can go out 10-15 feet and still be at their hips wading in the water.
